Letter from the Founder

I want to welcome everyone to another edition of the CAIPRS Newsletter. Over the the last three months allot of things have happened in the field of paranormal investigating. I attended The 10th Annual American Ghost Society Conference in Alton, Illinois with team members Joanne McCann and Deborah Ahern. It was Deborah’s first time to Alton and Joanne’s second time. I have attend this conference six times and I have to say that there was a topic that allot of people in our field were talking about and that was how we are at a junction in our field of studies and can not seem to go much further in our endeavors.

I had seen this stagnant situation over the last year or so and I have to say it is tough to go forward without some kind of breakthrough, either with equipment or with a finding. I am not a Doctor or a scientist if you were to place a title I consider myself a studier of psudo-science. I was able to talk to many attendees on how we can get through this speed-bump. I am working on a few ideas that may launch this study in a forward direction. One is to get teams to share their findings and techniques. I also am aware of the media’s role in working with other ghost hunting teams and psychics. They have capitalized on everyone's interest and running for the great American dollar. I am not jealous because CAIPRS is not the team on television I see it as entertainment and many teams look up to these television shows for answers. I would like to give one piece of advice. Think outside YOUR box, don’t live in someone else's.

Sincerely,

Derek W. Bartlett
